You will serve as a Security Specialist in the Logistics Readiness Department (LRD) of NAVSUP FLC PEARL HARBOR.
Duties
You will serve as the Unit Security Manager for active duty personnel.
You will be responsible for the security requirements of civilian personnel in the department requiring access to sensitive information/networks.
You will administer the department's information security, personnel security, and security training programs.
You will review and process security clearance requests/applications, ensuring they are processed strictly in accordance with regulations.
You will serve as the alternate Unit Deployment Manager and the alternate Training Manager, as well as provide dedicated assistance to the primary Unit Deployment Manager and the primary Training Manager.
You will plan and conduct initial security briefings for new employees.
Requirements

- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized Security Specialist experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector utilizing a knowledge of DoD information and personal security policies and procedures to protect information, personnel civilian and military, property, facilities, operations or material from unauthorized disclosure, misuse, theft, assault, vandalism, espionage, or loss. I also have experience analyzing procedures/providing guidance on safeguarding, usage, personnel access controls, physical storage and control to ensure compliance with security regulations. Examples of specialized experience may include: 1) Determining the suitability and security eligibility of individuals by evaluating the security requirements for personnel requiring access to sensitive systems and information, determining the type of investigations required, and reviewing and processing security clearance requests/applications in accordance with regulations; 2) Protecting classified and other sensitive information through identifying information requiring protection and designating the level of protection required, implementation of access controls, and ensuring proper handling of sensitive information; 3) Preparing and/or conducting security training for organizational personnel in accordance with regulations and requirements.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
master's or equivalent graduate degree
or
2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree
or
LL.B. or J.D., if related
