This position is located in the Office of Operations, Office of the Chief Business Officer for IT Modernization (OCBO) Staff at SSA Headquarters. The incumbent serves as a Management Analyst. The incumbent provides a variety of high-level coordinative, consultative and advisory services relating to IT modernization, operations and management issues in OCBO.

Duties

Conducts and/or leads a variety of agency-wide special projects, studies, and assignments. Prepares executive summaries, confidential reports, high level service maps, briefing materials, decision papers, and recommendations for the Chief Business Officer or other high-level officials. Prepares briefing materials and/or reviews agendas for meetings and conferences; (continued) gathers information from participating components and other sources as necessary and presents a well-formulated and comprehensive agenda for the Chief Business Officer’s review. Provides advice and guidance to SSA components (including field offices), other federal agencies, public/private entities and the general public on IT modernization issues. Serves as liaison between OCBO and representatives of other federal agencies, state and local governments and the private sector. Represents SSA at meetings with high-level officials from other components or other government agencies and represents the office at internal SSA meetings. Develops action assignments, as appropriate, based on the outcome of these meetings.

Qualifications

Applicants must have 52 weeks of specialized experience at the GS-12 level, or equivalent, which is in or related to the work of the position to be filled and has equipped applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Such experience must include: A) Researching, analyzing, interpreting, or implementing regulations, policies, and procedures; B) identifying a problem, gathering and analyzing relevant information, including mapping current and future business processes, touchpoints, and interactions across multiple service channels, and recommending solutions or improvements; and C) presenting information orally and in writing. NOTE: The specialized experience and must be explicitly documented/described in your resume. Be clear, accurate and specific when describing your experience; e.g., list all positions separately, include full start and stop dates for each position, your work schedule (number of hours per week), your grade (if your position is federal), and a comprehensive description of the relevant duties you performed in each position.
