About the Position: Implement programs designed to train Family members, promote Volunteer Corps, coordinate and support Mobilization and Deployment activities, Employment and Financial Readiness , Army Emergency Relief, Exceptional Family Member Program, Information and Referral, Centralized Intake, Family Training Programs, Relocation and Survivor Outreach Services, Soldier and Family Assistance Center, Army Family Action Plan, Army Family Team Building, Master Resiliency, and ACS Operations.
Duties
Direct, develop, and administer plans and procedures and implement regulations to provide for a continuing and aggressive program designed to meet the interests and needs of the supported community.
Participates in the development, coordination, and integration of ACS programs, services, and activities across functional areas and among community organizations.
In collaboration with the ACS Division Chief, plan work to be accomplished-by subordinates, set priorities and establish schedules for work completion.
Represent the ACS program with a variety of family and soldier activity councils and boards to stay informed on operations and/or to coordinate programs and requirements.

Basic Requirement for Army Community Services Operations Officer:
A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in behavioral or social science, or related disciplines appropriate to the position, such as Social Worker, Psychology, and Education.
OR
B. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience that provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
OR
C. Experience: Four years of appropriate experience that demonstrated that the applicant has acquired knowledge of one or more of the behavioral or social sciences equivalent to a major in the field.
In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualification requirements listed below:
Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level in the Federal service which includes developing working relationships with a range of organizations; performing management functions associated with family programs and services; establishing program goals to support operations in accordance with governing laws and regulations; and coordinating community resources for provision of services.
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For this job, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
