About the position: This position will be assigned to the Information, Ticket, and Travel (ITT) on Kirtland AFB,NM.
This position will be filled as Regular Full Time Employment Category, guaranteed a minimum of 35 hrs/week. and eligible for benefits such as Medical/Dental, Group Life, 401(k), and AFNAF Retirement.
Proficiency with basic computer functions, such as email, highly desired.
Duties
Performs commercial reservations, ticketing services for airlines, hotels, cruises, vehicles, tour packages, amusement parks and other related recreation trips for customers.
Provides clear and accurate guidance and coordination of leisure travel information and referral services for both individual and group customers.
Assists in the development of group tours both international and domestic areas for advisement to the base populace through Information Ticket and Travel (ITT) brochures. Services Monthly magazine, weekly newspaper and web page.
Assists the director in ITT programs with off base recreational facilities and attractions to ensure a wide variety of tickets are available and meet the desires of the base population.
Keeps proper inventory levels of all area attraction tickets, booklets, flyers, etc. needed. Assists the director by providing input for the quarterly and annual budget. Responsible for opening and closure procedures and tasking is as scheduled.
Proper protection of all NAFI property, funds, and procedures will be enforced at all times.
Prepares daily activity report.
Responsible for the NAF Purchasing card charges and following proper processing procedures. Assists the director in providing accurate and timely information on trips, tickets and other travel opportunities to the Marketing Office for publication and news release.
Maintains a clean and orderly work environment and professional appearance.
Performs local tours as guide and/or driver (15 pass van). Performs general office duties.
Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements
- This position requires the incumbent to complete a Tier 1(T1) background investigation with favorable results.
- Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license
- This is a drug testing designated position. The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Minimum one-year full progressive experience in coordinating travel arrangements, packages, condo, car, cruises, and airline reservations or one year experience in a related field such as event planning, accounting, recreation, etc.
General travel industry knowledge to include processing reservations using "Saber" software program or other comparable travel system is preferred but a well-developed knowledge of computers and basic software is acceptable.
Must have ability to communicate both orally and in writing.
Must possess skill in dealing with the public.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
