This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Atlanta, Charlotte, or Raleigh Field Office, of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in the areas investigations and exercises of suspected abusive practices; potential assessment of civil money and/or criminal penalties.

Duties
- Examine the financial institution's records to identify potential suspicious activity which is actionable by the FDIC against lower level bank employees, bank management, Institution Affiliated Parties, and the bank's Board of Directors.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Applicants may qualify at the CG-11 level by one of the following:
1. Experience: Applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade 9 level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience conducting audits and investigations to assess compliance and identify patterns related to apparent criminal financial activity, potential misconduct, or violations of law in financial institution records. - OR -
2. Education: Applicants must possess a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree, or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related - OR -
3. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of graduate level education and specialized experience as described above that together meet the qualification requirements for this position.
