The position is in the Leadership Training Division (LTD); Leadership and Management School (LMS) at the Foreign Service Institute (FSI). The incumbent applies professional expertise in adult learning methodologies, leadership/management training, course and curriculum design, training materials development, and leadership coaching in carrying out a wide range of complex assignments to support the functional responsibilities of the Division.

Duties

Serve as an expert instructor and facilitator for entry- through mid-level courses on the Department’s leadership training and professional development continuums. Facilitate training programs, seminars, and modules tailored to meet specific needs of Bureaus, components, and offices. Develop comprehensive materials, readings, teaching aids, and microlearning units. Research, incorporate, and advise on using educational technology and computer-based training in courses and programs. Design and deliver leadership, management, interpersonal effectiveness, and similar on-demand training for other components at FSI and Department wide.

Qualifications

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in education, OR in a subject-matter field appropriate to the position, PLUS appropriate experience OR additional course work that provided knowledge comparable to that normally acquired through the successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in A above. This experience is related to the work of the position and equivalent to at least the GS-13 level in the Federal service. Qualifying experience must demonstrate the following: Experience in coordinating or coaching educational or training programs to improve operational effectiveness. Experience in overseeing professional development and leadership initiatives. Experience in analyzing adult education and management methodologies. Experience in providing guidance or policies for education and instructional applications. Experience in developing program strategies to establish educational frameworks for operations. There is no substitute of education for specialized experience for the GS-13 position.
