Duties
Serves as the Deputy Director of the United States Army Special Operations Command Human Performance and Wellness Program.
Plans, programs, and budgets to support 21 facilities across installations to optimize the sustained, holistic health and wellness of Soldiers and their Families.
Ensure development of organizational work plans, priorities, work assignments, and position structures to effectively, efficiently, and economically carry out the mission.
Direct the evaluation of extensive program modification and integration of emerging research and technological developments.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must obtain and maintain a SECRET security clearance.
- Temporary Duty Travel (TDY) is required 30% of the time.
- Required to travel for short periods in both CONUS and OCONUS areas.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). Specialized experience: One year of specialized experience in experience in: 1) providing guidance on complex health and wellness solutions aimed at equipping, informing, and sustaining holistic wellness throughout and beyond a Soldier's career; 2) providing supervisory oversight of multiple complex program segments that include diverse functional areas in human performance, sports medicine, wellness and community/family support disciplines; 3) integrating Human Performance/ Wellness program efforts directly within the command; 4) oral communication to provide advisory and information to other components on the technical development and implementation of a holistic Human Performance/Wellness program. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-13.
