You will serve as an ELECTRONICS TECHNICIAN in the Test & Evaluation Management Division, Combat Systems Test & Evaluation Department of NAVAL SURFACE WARFARE CENTER, located in Port Hueneme, CA.

Duties

You will serve as Surface Warfare (SUW) Test Conductor, directing technical personnel in support of AEGIS Combat System (ACS) Combat System Ship Qualification Trials (CSSQT) Test and Evaluation events. You will work with the Project Officer, planning and scheduling resources for SUW test events that include personnel, funding, shore based equipment support, ordnance to support SUW events, and ships. You will assess and address Combat System equipment and crew readiness to execute the test plan through technical leadership of required installations, readiness assessment, integration, and rehearsals. You will investigate and resolve Test and Evaluation issues and ensure successful resolution of issues through shore site testing and appropriate shipboard verifications. You will prepare and present detailed plans, assessments and reports. You will develop test requirements, objectives and procedures using requirements analysis and traceability for CSSQT and Developmental tests.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • This is a bargaining unit position.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of Specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying electronics engineering principles to coordinate and execute technical project assignments in support of ship Combat System Test and Evaluation (T&E) events.
