About the Position: This position is located with the Joint Personal Property Shipment Office, within the Personal Property Management Division. This is a TERM appointment not-to-exceed 13 Months with provisions to extend up to eight years. To be eligible for conversion to a permanent career-conditional or career appointment, you must have: completed at least 2 years of current continuous service under a term appointment in the competitive service. demonstrate successful job performance.

Duties

Inspect contractor's performance at residence and warehouse during packaging, crating, loading shipping, unloading, uncrating and upacking. Perform damage inspections when requested by the shipper or the claims office. Ensure inventory is complete and report damage and missing items is accurate. Inspect crates and material for overseas or domestic shipment and rejects those not meeting specifications. Perform pre-awards survey for pack and crate contractor warehouse and equipment, in accordance with current regulations or directive; recommends approval or disapproval of the facility for use by government.

• The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
