You will serve as an Engineering Technician in the Spacecraft Engineering Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.
Duties
You will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of all thermal vacuum (TVAC) and thermal cycle (T-Cycle) test equipment.
You will perform routine, periodic, and emergency mechanical and electronic maintenance.
You will perform test fixture design and assembly.
You will install structural hardware, mechanical and electronic components, flight instruments and test equipment.
You will enforce TVAC facility operation and processing procedures.
Requirements

- Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

Qualifications
SELECTIVE PLACEMENT FACTOR: This position requires knowledge of all forms of high vacuum technology, including operation of large diffusion pump, computer controlled cryo pump, and GN2 thermal conditioning systems?
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05/08 grade level or pay band (NR-02) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate most or all of the following: 1.) Administering, organizing and managing laboratory experiments; 2.) Performing routine, periodic and emergency mechanical and electronic maintenance; 3.) Performing test fixture design & assembly; AND 4.) Installing structural hardware, mechanical and electronic components
