You will serve as a Engineering Technician (Customer Liaison) in the Research and Development Services Division of NAVAL RESEARCH LABORATORY.

Duties

You will serve as the point of contact for coordination on all projects for research sutomers. You will act as a customer advisor and advocate and will use all resources available to solves facilities issues or problems as they arise You will evaulate the effectiveness of the division in meeting established goals and objectives. You will gather and analyze data pertaining to facility projects from both members of the organization and outside agencies tasked to design and execute NRL projects.

Requirements

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-09/10) or pay band (NR-03) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector performing some or all of the following duties: 1) Developing and reviewing research facility contracts; 2) Demonstrating knowledge of engineering practices and techniques related to renovation of research facilities; 3) Exhibiting knowledge of mechanical, electrical, or civil engineering sufficient to evaluate and incorporate the latest developments into technical requirements; 4) Working with acquisition strategy planning, including the budget process; and 5) Performing minor application development tasks on computer systems for the development of specialized or unique management reports.
