This IT Specialist (APPSW) position is located in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. This is a DoD Civilian Acquisition Workforce Personnel Demonstration Project (AcqDemo) position in the NH-03 broadband with an advertised pay range from the lowest equivalent GS 12 grade Step 1 to the highest equivalent GS 13 grade step 10 in the broadband.
Duties
Develops accreditation packages for systems networks, reviews or evaluates the security impact of system changes upon the networks and computers within their area of responsibility.
Serves as the Information System Security Manager (ISSM) in accordance with (IAW) Public Law, U.S. Government, DoD and U.S. Army regulation to provide the required Network Defense-In-Depth for the PM/PL and its customers.
Implements standard operating procedures, software, controls promoting awareness of security issues among management, and ensures that sound security principles are part of the organization's vision and goals to ensure appropriate levels of security.
Works with other security officers, users, computer operators, or other support personnel to ensure security regulations are followed, and that installation, command, or agency security standards are met
Requirements
- Appointment to this position may be subject to a one-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Financial Disclosure Statement OGE Form 450 is required on pre-employment and annually thereafter.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance for the duration of employment.
- Selectees must meet position requirements for certification at Level I Foundational in the Acquisition Career Field Engineering and Technical Management within 36 months of entrance on duty.
- Must obtain certification under DoD Directive 8570.1-M, Information Assurance Management and Technical Level II (IAM II/IAT II) within 6 months of employment.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to qualify for this position based on experience your resume must include at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the NH-02 (GS-11) grade level in the Federal service which includes:
1. Performing duties of an Information Systems Security Manager (ISSM) AND;
2. Ensuring application and integrity of system cyber security requirements are meet AND;
3. Applying knowledge of risk management framework
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (NH-02) or GS-11.
