About the Position: This position is located in the Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, Washington. Tacoma is a diverse city nestled between Seattle and the state capital of Olympia. Duties

Maintain weight log sheet on all linens received from the Linen Contractor on a daily basis. Review for accuracy all daily requests for linen supplies. Perform inventory of linen by counting quantities of items remaining on wards and clinics linen racks and adjusts daily linen order to replenish par level. Use computerized automatic transport system to ship linen supplies to activities within the Medical Center. Perform various duties in the Hospital Duty White Section including issuing and receiving uniforms to hospital staff, inventory, stocking and records keeping.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Due to the nature of this position, employees are required to work both planned and unscheduled overtime.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination and an annual examination thereafter to ensure the continued, required level of physical health and ability or fitness to perform the duties of the position.
  • This position has a requirement to lift up to 25lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
  • This position has a requirement to push carts up to 650 lbs. in the regular performance of duties.
  • This position is subject to screening and update of required immunizations unless exempted for medical or administrative reasons.

Working Conditions: Works inside and outside; works inside in areas hot, cold, damp, drafty, or poorly lighted. Occasionally works in bad weather in outside areas such as open docks. Work may be dirty, dusty, and greasy. Frequently exposed to possibility of cuts, scrapes, bruises, from falling stock, falls from ladders, or injury from materials handling equipment.
