You will serve as a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) in the Navy Recruiting District of NRD DALLAS. Pay range for Dallas will be $61,957 - $80,541. Pay range for Sacramento will be $62,903 - $81,771. Pay range for Indianapolis will be $57,642 - $74,932.

Duties

You will develop performance standards (e.g., guidelines, criteria, priorities) for junior employees. You will write directives (e.g., policies, practices, procedures) for military personnel actions. You will research historical military personnel documentation to recommend improved operations or action processing.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.

  • Generally, current federal employees applying for GS jobs must serve at least one year at the next lower grade level. This requirement is called time-in-grade. Time-in-grade requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement.
  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
  • Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Supervisors in the executive branch have a heightened personal responsibility for advancing government ethics. You will be required to review the 14 General Principles of Ethical Conduct at 5 CFR 2635.101.
  • You will do sedentary work such as sitting comfortably. There may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items or driving an automobile. No special physical effort or ability is required to perform the work.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver’s license.
  • You will work in an adequately lighted and ventilated office environment. Exercises normal safety precautions.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Developing solutions to military personnel programs issues; 2) Managing personnel actions (e.g., awards, promotions, schools, assignments, retirements and separations) in support of military personnel program management; 3) Utilizing military personnel data systems in support of military personnel programs; and 4) Preparing and presenting correspondence, reports and briefs to provide information used in decision making. Education

In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:

Have successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.

OR

Have successfully completed two full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to a master's degree.

OR

OR

Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
