Duties
Supports the DFAS performance measures for Civilian Pay.
Researches and identifies problems, determines corrective actions as needed and recommends changes to procedures and practices.
Organizes, collects, analyzes and presents a variety of data, information, and statistics related to financial programs and projects based on reviews of assigned program accounts.
Conducts meetings, training sessions, and teleconferences in response to mission needs.
Develops recommendations for modifications or correction of deficiencies.
Assists senior financial analyst in the review, preparation, and updating of standard operating procedures as well as the implementation of new financial management procedures.
Performs random reviews of disbursements for Civilian Pay.

Qualifications
GS-07 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience at the GS-07 grade level is defined as: Experience in researching and resolving problems related to travel pay questions and/or issues; assisting in analyzing reports and data from financial systems to identify issues and discrepancies.
GS-09 Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-07) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized Experience at the GS-09 grade level is defined as: Experience performing compliance reviews and analysis of finance operations systems; and analyzing the impact of applicable laws and regulations on an organization's financial policies, operations and systems and recommending changes to maintain compliance.
Time-in-Grade: Current or former federal employees who have held a GS position in the preceding 52 weeks, must meet the time in grade requirement. To be considered for the GS-07, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-05 or higher in the Federal service. To be considered for the GS-09, applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-07 or higher in the Federal service.

GS-07 Substitution of Education for Experience: One full year of graduate level education or Superior Academic Achievement (
http://www.opm.gov/qualifications/policy/ApplicationOfStds-04.asp) may be substituted to meet the specialized experience requirement. Equivalent combinations of successfully completed graduate level education and experience may be used to meet total experience requirements.
