About the Position: The incumbent monitors, administers and manages various programs to provide direct support to members in the United States Army, with emphasis upon the United States Army Reserve.
Duties
Maximizes the resources and authority of the position to assist the soldier through oral and written communication.
Maintains either a permanent or temporary record of the action using various automated or manual systems.
Initiates, reviews or assists in completion of personnel actions in a wide variety of functional areas.
Initiates Promotions, board support, benefit programs, awards and decorations, retirements, occupational specialties, ID cards, commissary cards, etc.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience Required: To qualify based on your resume, the resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes and prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes: Experience performing administrative personnel actions in such functional areas as: Transition, Retention, Retirement and Separation, USAR Board Support, entitlements, benefits, awards and decorations, and corrections to military records.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
