About the position: This position will be assigned to the Arts &Craft Center, at the Air Force Academy, Colorado.
This position does include benefits.
Duties
Manages the engraving shop at the Skills Development Center.
Takes engraving orders from patrons.
Completes the engraving orders using manual or laser engraving, and sublimation to produce plaques, tee shirts, mugs, ball caps. etc. according to the order.
Provides written estimates for engraving orders.
Orders engraving and related supplies for shop with approval from director.
Receives, labels, and displays merchandise.
Uses personal computers. scanners. laser engravers, and graphics software packages including, but not limited to, Corel Draw, Dorel Paint. Photo Paint. and Word for Windows, etc.
Conducts classes in areas of expertise.
Provides advice and guidance to patrons in basic arts and crafts techniques, as trained. Issues and collects equipment from customers.
Assists, as needed, in other shop areas, by taking orders and/or performing actual work, such as matting and framing.
Performs over-the-counter selling of specialty items such as trophies and plaques.
Prepares sales and refund receipts to customers with a cost-by-cost breakdown.
Operates a cash register, prepares daily cash reports and makes deposits as required.
Performs on-the-spot engraving on an as needed basis.
Participates in shop inventories and file maintenance.
Completes assigned end-of-month paperwork.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Works under the supervisor of the Director, Skills Development Center.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have progressively responsible computer experience with Corel Draw and word processing software (Word for Windows, etc.).
Applicant must have a basic knowledge of artistic concepts, lettering, coloring and shading. and layout.
Applicant must have a basic knowledge of clerical processes.
Applicant must have strong customer service and organizational skills, and good oral, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
Applicant must have the ability to prioritize work, and operate a cash register.

Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
