About the position: This position will be assigned to the Outdoor Recreation Center, Air Force Academy, Colorado.

Duties
Assists in planning and scheduling recreation programs and special events (i.e., intramural fishing, winter expo, etc.) for the Outdoor Recreation Center.
Issues rental equipment, checks equipment for damage and instructs patrons on the proper use of the equipment.
Prepares skis for rental to include mounting bindings, waxing and sanding.
Assists with maintenance, repair and cleaning of all recreation equipment issued.
Enters data into POS system for rental inventory, issuing and receiving.
Sells and issues state fishing and hunting licenses in accordance with the Colorado Division of Wildlife, which includes explaining pertinent rules and regulations.
Controls, monitors and receives payments for the recreational vehicle (RV) lot, impound lot, and FamCamp and Picnic areas.
Assists in selling ski lift tickets, and all related outdoor rental equipment, following required cash handling procedures and accountability.
Prepares daily cash reports and deposits money on a daily basis.
Assists with making reservations for the FamCamp, the picnic areas and all rental equipment.
Assists in ordering, purchasing and receiving supplies and inventory items.
Displays stock and inventory items so that they are easily accessible.
Sends out customer confirmations and notifications as needed.
May accompany or guide various recreational trips when necessary.
Drives vehicle to various sites.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This is a developmental position having known promotion potential to the Recreation Assistant (OAP) NF-0189-III level (05388) upon completion of 6 months experience as Recreation Assistant (Outdoor Recreation) NF-0189-II, the incumbent may be non-competitively promoted to the higher pay band.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualifying Experience:
Applicant must have working experience or knowledge of the recreational activities and equipment, rules and procedures as related to the particular activity in which they are assigned.
Progressively responsible experience in clerical duties in the receipt, disbursement, examination, deposit, custody, or other processing of cash items when this includes (1) direct handling of cash items and, (2) use of cash accountability control methods.
Experience making reservations is required.
Applicant must have good organizational skills.
Applicant must have the ability to interpret and apply rules, regulations, and policies.
The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
Binding certification is preferred.
Must be able to lift items weighing up to 40 pounds.
National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) are required.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
