The Diversion Investigator (Member) position is open in the following location(s):
Arlington, VA - Human Resources Division
Among other duties, this position will support:
Directing the management and attainment of the Board of Professional Conduct (HRB) program objectives.
Monitoring internal control programs and ensures procedures are handled in accordance with agency policies and procedures.
Participating in top echelon intra- and inter-agency planning or working groups.
Collaborating with fellow Board Members, Board Chairman and Office of Chief Counsel staff attorneys on complex case specific issues to ensure synopsis, proposed charges and proposed disciplinary measures are accurate and justified.
Developing materials and gives oral presentations to Agency employees on various issues to include an overview of DEA's disciplinary system, MSPB regulations and rulings and their effect on past and present Agency recommendations and final outcome of case, as well as employee misconduct and disciplinary measures taken.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Background and/or Security Clearance

- Drug testing designated position
- Successful completion of a one-year supervisory probationary period is required (unless already completed)
- Successful completion of the mandatory Basic Diversion Investigator Training Course.

Qualifications
GS-15: Must have one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 level or pay band in the Federal service that includes performing the following duties: 1) Advising agency management in refining missions, and measuring the overall effectiveness of programs; 2) Evaluating data, reports, and information relating to active investigations throughout the government; 3) Reviewing and preparing multifaceted legal and investigative correspondence reflecting knowledge and understanding of agency policies and procedures; 4) Reviewing complex investigations and developing new approaches in determining appropriate consequences due to employee misconduct.
