Duties

You will analyze data for various financial reports (e.g., budget formulation, budget execution, accounting, audit readiness). You will prepare financial reports for review by managers. You will review financial reports (e.g. commitments, obligations, expenditures) to determine the results of accounting transactions on financial resources.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Must be determined suitable for federal employment.
  • Must participate in the direct deposit pay program.

  • This is a bargaining unit position.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 1 certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.

Qualifications

For the GS-9: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Interprets accounting and budgetary information in automated financial systems; 2) Generates financial reports to submit to managers; 3) Enters data into financial systems; and 4) Assists in formulating budget and cost estimates in accordance to the organization's policies and procedures. NOTE: THIS INFORMATION MUST BE SUPPORTED IN YOUR RESUME TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION. For the GS-7: Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Compiles financial and/or budget information to a wide range of analytical techniques to review and evaluate budget requests; 2) Applies policies, regulations, and guidelines to interpret standard organizational budgetary, accounting, or financial information; and 3) Uses a wide range of analytical techniques to review and evaluate budget requests. Education

Graduate education providing the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the work of the position may be substituted for specialized experience as follows:

For the GS-9:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree
OR
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher graduate level education leading to a master's degree
OR
LL.B. or J.D., if related
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.

For the GS-07:
Successfully completed one full year of graduate level education
OR
Superior academic achievement
OR
A combination of experience and education as described above that equates to one year of experience. My percentage of the required education plus my percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
