You will serve as a FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT ANALYST in the COMPTROLLER DEPARTMENT of NAVAL WAR COLLEGE.
Duties
You will formulate budgets and estimates for programs and developing alternate solutions to budgetary issues.
You will reconcile accounts (e.g., budgetary, financial, and travel data) between automated systems.
You will analyze accounting data to identify emerging patterns/trends related to dollar figures with the budget.
You will advise personnel on accounting and financial policies and procedures.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. You must achieve this level within prescribed timelines. Certification requirements are in DoD Instruction 1300.26.
- This is a bargaining unit position.
- You will be required to complete training, obtain, and maintain a government credit card for travel and travel-related purchases.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-09 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Formulating budgets and estimates for programs and developing alternate solutions to budgetary issues; 2) Reconciling accounts (e.g., budgetary, financial, and travel data) between automated systems; 3) Analyzing accounting data to identify emerging patterns/trends related to dollar figures with the budget; 4) Advising personnel on accounting and financial policies and procedures. This is a Financial Management Level I certified position per the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) 2012, Section 1599d. This certification level must be achieved within prescribed timelines. Education
Have successfully completed a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree.
OR
Have successfully completed three full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Ph.D. or equivalent degree.
OR
Have successfully completed an LL.M. degree that is related to the position being filled.
OR
Have a combination of experience and education that equates to one year of experience. Percentage of education plus percentage of experience must equal 100%
