You will serve as a SECURITY SPECIALIST (INFORMATION SECURITY) in the Office of Security Programs (SEA 00P) of NAVSEA HQ FIELD SUPPORT.
Duties
You will coordinate with the Scientific and Technical Intelligence Liaison Office (STILO) to evaluate threats and assists program offices.
You will with STILO develop and review security classification guides to address and protect vulnerabilities to ships, submarines, and systems.
You will develop and implement digital tools to track security classification guides (SCG) milestones to effectively manage the program.
You will implement, draft and monitor policies, instructions, procedures, controls, and methods.
You will lead, assess and implement the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and restricted data (RD)/formally restricted data (FRD) programs and ensure compliance of the subordinate units.
You will ensure training is accomplished and forms are appropriately endorsed and logged in the system of record for security clearances.
You will provide support to program offices requiring upgrade, downgrade, or declassification of NAVSEA technical information.
You will investigate security incidents, violations/infractions, and/or possible compromise by DoD activities and contractors, assessing the damage against national security and take action, as required.
You will recommend changes to policy, procedures, and elements of security-in-depth to address vulnerabilities creating security incidents.
You will provide assistance and guidance in the marking, handling, destruction and control of controlled unclassified information (CUI) and classified Information.
You will act as a project manager responsible for writing requirements, processing acquisition actions, and serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR) on Information Security related contracts.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.
- Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- Must complete the Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC) under the SPeD certification program within six months of assignment.
- Must be able to bending, climb ladders or scaffolding, climb ramps or stairs, crawl, crouch, lift and carry up to 50 lbs, push, pull, reach overhead, reach at or below shoulder level, sit, stand for up to one hour, stoop, walk up to three miles.
- Must follow all DoD and agency foreign travel program requirements, if assigned.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: "Implementing and executing program policies or procedures for the classification, safeguarding, and declassifying of sensitive or classified information."
