This position is located in the Office of the Managing Director (OMD), Associate Managing Director for Administrative Operations (AMD-AO), Federal Communications Commission (FCC) located in Washington, DC. Relocation expenses will not be paid. THIS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT MAY BE USED TO FILL ADDITIONAL POSITIONS WITHIN 90 DAYS.

Duties

The incumbent will serve as Deputy to the AMD-AO Administrative Operations Manager with responsibility for: (a) assisting with the management of the HQ Administrative Service Center (ASC); (b) providing supervision and management to the FCC Health and Safety Health and Safety Specialist and Occupational Health Nurse; and (c) provide support to the OMO COOP Manager and field operations work. Provides advice, guidance, and recommendations to the supervisor of ASC on: (a) proposed or on-going major programs and functions/activities, program goals, plans, resources for various Headquarters Administrative Operations; (b) support programs and building/facility management functions and activities; and (d) Research and develop written and oral communication products that are clear and easy to understand by employees and clients.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet eligibility and qualification requirements by the closing date of this announcement.  Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement.  Specialized Experience:  Applicants must have a minimum of one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 in the Federal service.  For this position, specialized experience includes the following:    1. Experience coaching, leading or supervising task and/or work priorities and providing guidance to staff. 2. Experience coordinating administrative services activities (e.g. transportation services, building and facility management, space management and customer service) to ensure operational efficiency for an organization.3.Experience communicating information in a clear, and organized manner to include producing written information to internal and/or external customers to accomplish program objectives and goals.PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
