Duties
Serves as an expert on financial management operations. Provides financial services, management advice, and assistance to supported organizations.
Analyzes operations to identify areas of potential non-compliance; explains discrepancies; and provides authoritative policy interpretation to ensure modification of existing operations comply with regulations.
Analyzes policy changes to regulations directing respective functional area key processes and the impacts to auditable processes, which are the result of policy, procedural, and/or system weaknesses.
Performs reviews of financial systems with enterprise-wide application requiring a high degree of analytical and evaluative skills, as well as originality and advisory abilities.
Identifies and develops risk management plans and executes mitigation/remediation actions. Performs trend analysis of audit related corrective actions and reports on audit readiness metrics.

Qualifications
Applicants MUST have related financial experience AND/OR a related financial degree (examples include: Finance, Accounting, Management, Actuarial Science, or related), in addition to meeting Office of Personnel Management (OPM) minimum qualification requirements.

Combinations of education and experience may also be sufficient.One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-12) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
Specialized experience is defined as using many different and unrelated analytical techniques to develop and implement financial management policies within an organization; determining the impact of policy changes; analyzing complex problems and developing viable solutions or alternatives resulting from a change in policy or procedure; and serve as an expert on finance management operations.
Volunteer Experience: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
