This position is part of the Warfare Centers Personnel Demonstration Project. The NT-5 pay band encompasses positions equivalent to GS-13 and GS-14.
You will serve as the Financial Lead in the Business Office (H03) of the Weapons Control & Integration Department of the Naval Surface Warfare Center Dahlgren Division.
Duties
You will communicate business and financial status and plans and provide business and financial leadership to all Department Division Administrative Officers, Business and Financial Managers (BFMs), and Program Managers.
You will research, collate, organize and evaluate financial data in order to prepare action item responses, populate databases, and prepare reports and presentations in support of the Department.
You will work closely with the Comptroller and Command Financial Offices, the Technical Department Acquisition Advocate (TDAA), the Business Operations Manager and the Head of the Department to maintain excellence in meeting financial targets.
You will assist the Business Office Manager and Comptroller with other Department Financial Data Calls.
You will monitor the expenditure of direct and indirect funds, accept/reject funding documents, and conduct special analytical studies using automated data management systems.
You will stay up-to-date on all current and emerging policies in the financial area and keep Department personnel informed of guidance.
You will complete Access Enforcer (AE) requests for the Department to ensure employees have appropriate Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) roles to perform their jobs.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final Top Secret security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-4 pay band (GS-11 and GS-12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying analytical and evaluative methods to oversee budget formulation or the execution of financial management programs that ensure project goals are met.
