This position works in the operational divisions of the District of Columbia Courts providing administrative and clerical support as assigned.This announcement will create a roster for Superior Court Deputy Clerk vacancies.The starting salary will be a Grade 6 unless you are currently in the Federal or DC Government and considered a transfer.If you previously applied for a Deputy Clerk posting, you must reapply for consideration.

Duties

The Deputy Clerk works in the operational divisions of the District of Columbia Courts providing administrative and clerical support as assigned. The duties include some or all of the following:

Requirements

  • A background and security investigation is required.
  • A probationary period of one (1) year must be successfully completed.

Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR GRADE 6: High-School Diploma or GED plus two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience court, legal or office environment. You MUST provide documentation of education or your application will not be considered.   Attention to detail and the ability to multi-task are required.Please note that authorization for the release of your adult criminal record revealing any convictions and forfeitures, and any criminal cases currently pending before the courts are required.  If you are selected for the position, a criminal history records check will be conducted. The incumbent should be an enthusiastic and engaged professional who enjoys working with a diverse group of Court personnel and customers and lives the DC Courts’ values of Accountability, Excellence, Fairness, Integrity, Respect, and Transparency.

Education
