The incumbent serves as the Program Support Assistant (PSA) for the Remote Patient Monitoring-Home Telehealth Program which is aligned under Telehealth Services and Patient Care Services. The PSA performs a variety of clerical and administrative support duties for Telehealth Services and performs office automation support using multiple automated programs and software such as SharePoint, databases, spreadsheets, word documents and graphics in support of the clerical and administrative work.
Duties
Major duties include but are not limited to:
Maintains inventory of office supplies
Runs inventory reports for accuracy of assigned fees and equipment and processes reproduction requests
Maintains calendar of appointments, meetings, conferences, and other scheduled activities
Records meeting minutes
Develops and maintains reports using spreadsheet software
Receives and processes documents and reports in accordance with established procedures
Maintains and organizes database with patient information and office records
Accurately collects, enters, and manages patient and program data
Routinely completes tasks such as scheduling and rescheduling appointments, mailing appointment reminders, and informing the RPM-HT team of any cancellations
Works one on one with patients and vendors to ensure communication is completed for daily patient needs
Addresses and resolves administrative issues independently
Directs patient calls to appropriate staff
Ensures documentation in the Electronic Health Record reflects accurate conversations with Veterans, families, and other members of the healthcare team and follows up as needed
Performs other related duties as assigned
Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p or 7:30a-4:00p

Physical Requirements: The work is mostly sedentary in nature. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there is walking; standing; bending and carrying of light to medium weight items such as equipment/devices, papers, books, etc. often walking up and down flights of stairs across the VA campus.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet specialized experience within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement, 09/25/2023.
You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-5 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: Use Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Teams, Etc.); Collect, compile, and track data from various sources; phone and in-person contact for internal and external customers and patients seeking information; Develop and maintain reports; Manage calendar and agendas; Schedules appointments and updates electronic health record.
NOTE: Experience must be fully documented on your resume and must include job title, duties, month & year starting and ending dates AND hours worked per week.
Please note: In addition to meeting experience requirements, applicants for this position must show possession of the following proficiency: ability to type 40 words per minute. Applicants may meet this requirement by passing the appropriate performance test, presenting a certificate of proficiency from a school or other organization authorized to issue such certificates by the Office of Personnel Management local office, or by self-certifying their proficiency. Performance test results and certificates of proficiency are acceptable for 3 years.
Preferred Experience: Previous administrative experience required. Must have working knowledge of electronic medical modalities and Microsoft applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and Teams. Must have experience with using the electronic health record. Experience with customer service and patient communication. Performs office automation support using multiple automated programs and software such as SharePoint, databases, spreadsheets, word documents and graphics in support of the clerical and administrative work. Knowledge of medical terminology. Documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR).
