Duties

Serves as the Supply Technician in a Defense Commissary Agency (DeCA) location. The primary purpose of this position is to perform a variety of procurement control duties involving supplies, transfers, equipment accountability, and other general office duties. Assigned duties will be dependent upon the daily operational supply and equipment needs of the commissary. Position responsibilities include: Performs duties in support of product inventory control Places, reviews and tracks product orders Performs weekly cyclic physical inventories Performs work file maintenance to ensure system integrity Creates emergency orders for central distribution center and writes vendor orders, as necessary

Qualifications

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. To qualify for this position your resume and supporting documents must show that you possess (A) 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-04 level or equivalent to at least GS-04 under other Federal service pay systems, private sector, or military, OR (B) 4 years of education above the high school level, OR (C) a combination of experience and education that equals 100% of the qualification requirements. To compute the percentage of experience and education you have that meets the qualification requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours by 60. Add the two percentages. Examples of qualifying specialized experience: Completes work using supply regulations, policies, and procedures. Establishes supply channels to perform a wide range of standard clerical assignments and resolve recurring problems. Responsible for receipt, storage, issue, and replenishment of a wide variety of store items. See the OPM Qualification Standards for more information. You must also meet the following requirements by the announcement closing date: Current and former federal employees in either the competitive or excepted service and current federal employees applying under VEOA eligibility are subject to time-in-grade. You must have served 52 weeks at the next lower grade level to be eligible for promotion. You must submit SF50s with your application package to verify you held the next lower grade level for at least 52 weeks. You may need to submit two (2) or more SF50s. Examples of appropriate SF 50s include Promotion, Reg WRI, and SF 50s effective more than 52 weeks ago. The next lower grade level for this position is GS-04. Current civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since their latest non-temporary appointment from a competitive referral certificate, known as time after competitive appointment. Education

Education used to qualify for this position must be from an accredited school or educational institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education and a copy of your transcript is required as part of your application package.
