About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the Office of the Chief of Staff of the Army, G-2- Counter-Intelligence, HUMIT, Security and Foreign Disclosure Directorate at the Pentagon, Arlington, VA.
Duties
Serves as a Security Specialist in the Security Division of Counterintelligence, Human Intelligence, Security and Foreign Disclosure Directorate in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff (DCS), G-2, HQDA.
Works with policy matters and procedures concerning the Department of the Army industrial security program.
Provides policy guidance and oversight to HQDA, Army Commands, Army Service Support Commands, Direct Reporting Units, and other Army Activities.
Interprets regulations and formulates policy pertaining industrial security.
Analyzes Industrial security program metrics for results and impact.
Provides security support for the Department of the Army in all matters pertaining to Industrial Security in coordination with other security personnel and security disciplines.
Represents the Army/DCS G-2 at meetings and working groups at the Army, DOD and national levels.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Two year trial period may be required.
- In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance based on a T5 (or equivalent level) investigation with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
- This position requires the incumbent obtain the core SPeD Certification, Security Fundamentals Professional Certification (SFPC), within 24 months of assuming the position.

Specialized experience is defined as experience developing industrial security policy for an agency in accordance with regulatory requirements; AND resolving industrial security problem sets for agency wide application. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12).

Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
