Duties

Serves as senior advisor to the Merchandise Planners, Merchandising Team, Replenishment and Assortment Planning teams for developing and maintaining systems and procedures to support the execution of pre-season merchandise plans, departmental open to buys and analysis against all merchandise plan components throughout a fiscal year.  May provide oversight of system management and control required to enable the end users to function comfortably and effectively with the planning system.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Merchandise Management or a related field appropriate to the work of position and three years of experience demonstrating in-depth knowledge of planning system variables and data flow and routine system administration.  Also requires experience in developing and maintaining systems and procedures to support the execution of pre-season merchandise plans, departmental open-to-buys and analysis against all merchandise plan components throughout a fiscal year, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above, OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above.  Skill to plan and develop pre-season strategy for seasonal merchandise financial plans to include reference sales volume, inventory turn, gross margins, receipts, markdowns and markups.  Ability to become familiar and comply with DoD, Department of the Navy, and Marine Corps directives, policies, and regulations covering retail operations.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software Excel and Power Point. Ability to learn the planning system structure. Must understand the following: the planning system variables and data flow, the current merchandising systems and routine system administration.Eligible for incremental telework as determined by MR/MF policy.
