About the Position: Serves as an HR Assistant and works on assignments related to The Adjutant General Directorate of the Army Human Resources Command. Determine objectives, priorities of assignments, and address impact to the activity's procedures caused by changes in policy, legislation, or directives. Guided by regulation, policy, and procedure, the incumbent exercises professional judgment to complete administrative actions and to reply to internal and external inquiries.
Duties
Uses processes and systems to review transactions, complete or process documents and reports, or to determine their sufficiency, accuracy, and completeness.
Provides a full range of military personnel advisory support to address Soldier inquiries.
Analyzes inquiries and either replies directly or advises supervisor on the appropriate resolution or response.
The incumbent activity participates on team building activities, group/team problem solving, and process improvement activities.
Ensures correct grammar, spelling, punctuation and arrangement of material.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent subject to a One-year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: Specialized experience is defined as one year of experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service which includes work that involve performing administrative personnel actions in such functional areas as: Transition, Retention, Retirement and Separation, USAR Board Support, entitlements, benefits, and awards and decorations. Initiating, reviewing or assisting in completion of personnel actions in a wide variety of functional areas, such as: Promotions, board support, benefit programs, awards and decorations, retirements, occupational specialties, ID cards, commissary cards, retirement points accounting, SGLI, incentive programs, reclassifications, transfers, accessions, resignations, assignments, reassignments, separations, extensions of service, transfers between service components, official credentials, correction of errors to files, discharges and/or other corrections to the official military record.
Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
Education
Some Federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for required experience in order to qualify. For this position, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone. Substitution of education for experience is NOT permitted.
