About the Position: This position serves as an Educational Technician (Office Automation) for the Army Continuing Education Services Division under the Directorate of Human Resources. This position provides clerical support duties that provides continuing education services to an adult population comprised of military, civilian, family members and designated others under the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) program.
Duties
Serve as Primary Point of Contact for Army Continuing Education System (ACES) and assist students to navigate GoArmyEd Portal.
Discuss and review benefits,entitlements and obligations under various education programs with regard to laws and regulations.
Monitor and track budget actions for assigned organizations/elements through the usage of Microsoft Office Programs.
Ensure obligations and expenditures occur on a timely basis in accordance with regulatory controls.
Type division-level forms and related correspondences with responsibility for correct format, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Perform Administrative tasks and services to assist Education Center staff in the accomplishment of assigned programs to include: student services, office management and maintenance of equipment.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary/trial period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Serve as Primary Point of Contact for the Army Continuing Education System (ACES) (2) Perform Administrative tasks and services to assist Education Center staff in the accomplishment of assigned programs to include: student services, office management and maintenance of equipment. and (3) Work with external colleges and universities to resolve issues related to record keeping, discrepancies or funding problems.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
