Duties
This position is being filled under the memorandum from the Under Secretary of Defense for Personnel and Readiness (USD(P&R)) "Expansion of Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense," dated June 23, 2023.
As a LEAD IT CYBERSECURITY SPECIALIST (INFOSEC) at the GS-2210-13 some of your typical work assignments may include:
Serves as the Agency Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Tier II Team Lead responsible for overseeing 24X7X365 CSSP Protect, Detect, Respond, and Sustainment elements.
Maintains CSSP monitoring, alerting, reporting, and response capabilities.
Performs trending and analysis of cyber related vulnerabilities, threats, risks, and compliance and develop situational awareness products to stakeholders.
Manages and lead an array of government, military, and contracting staff to execute operational, near and long-term goals.
Champions a Continuous Cybersecurity Awareness Campaign educating the workforce and leadership of cybersecurity related threats, recommendations, and best practices.
Proposes product concepts, working with subject matter experts on content development, coordinating with external stakeholders to assess needs, establish delivery rhythm, collect and incorporate feedback, and providing regular status updates and briefings to leadership.
Establishes and maintains collaboration with internal security teams (Insider Threat, Supply Chain Risk Management, Cross Domain Support, etc.); external Cybersecurity / Computer Network Defense communities; intelligence communities.
Possesses broad level experience with Agency, Component, or Service-level Network Operations, Computer Network Defense, Assessment and Authorization, Public Key Infrastructure, risk analysis and risk-based approaches to vulnerability remediation and mitigation.

Qualifications
For all positions individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. The employing agency is responsible for identifying the specific level of proficiency required for each competency at each grade level based on the requirements of the position being filled.

You may qualify at the GS-13, if you fulfill the following qualifications:
One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service as listed below:
Experience maintaining 24X7 Cybersecurity / Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Tier II program and operations.
Experience ensuring the cybersecurity posture of IT infrastructure, assets, and services is maintained through comprehensive, monitoring, alerting, reporting, and response activities.
Experience conducting vulnerability, compliance, and risk assessments.
Experience providing cyber based Situational Awareness to leadership, subscribers, and stakeholders.
Experience maintaining compliance with applicable Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP) Tier II Evaluator Scoring Metrics (ESM), and other applicable Department of Defense Cybersecurity requirements.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Education
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
