About the Position: This position is located in Consolidated Education Department at Madigan Army Medical Center. The work involves coordinating and instructing a training program designed to provide emergency skills to all medical personnel assigned to the I Corps and MAMC. The incumbent requires making decisions concerning the coordination of the program and instruction methods.

Duties

Responsible on a continuing basis for the coordination of the I Corps/Madigan Army Medical Center (MAMC) Delayed Evacuation Casualty Management (DECM), ICTL and Medic Tables I - VIII (TC8-800) programs. Ensures the completion of the following mission essential tasks: provide high quality initial training; soldiers can perform in technical and tactical environments; and provides impetus for sustainment training to maintain readiness. Plan and instruct classes such as shock management, Airway, Advanced Airway, basic medication, cardiopulmonary pulmonary resuscitation, and management of bleeding in accordance with current treatment strategies. Present instruction in the form of lecture, conference, group discussions and practical exercises in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) techniques. Write and revise lesson plans and practical exercises and select requisitions and organize training aids. Instruct courses in Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B), Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS), Trauma AIMS, Individual Critical Task List (ICTL), Delayed Evacuation Causality Management Course (DECM), and continuing education courses for EMT Develop, administers and grade written and practical examinations. Evaluate course content and recommend changes and Coordinate Healthcare Specialists Training Program. Coordinate with all department personnel, combat arms units, Reserve and National Guard Units as well as other Military Services regarding updated lesson plans, training objectives and new combat information.

• This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.

OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
