About the Position: This position is located at Madigan Army Medical Center, Informatics, Tacoma, Washington. Madigan Army Medical Center is located on Joint Base Lewis-McChord, Madigan Army Medical Center comprises a network of Army medical facilities located in Washington and California that serve more than 100,000 active duty service members, their families and retirees.

Duties

Provide support of training operations of the DoD Electronic Health Record (EHR), which include outpatient clinical information systems and inpatient clinical systems. Deliver training to healthcare providers, nursing staff, support staff, clerical users and patient management. Assess the need for Electronic Health Record training within the Medical Treatment Facility (MTF) and remote clinics based on turnover rate and the estimated influx of new staff. Review and evaluate the effectiveness of the training processes and products through analysis of all training documents, reports, studies, and publications. Provides direct support for sustainment of proficiency for users of clinical systems. Troubleshoot Electronic Health Record/Office Automation software issues.

Requirements

  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 35% of the time.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunization.
  • Must be able to work outside normal duty hours to meet the needs of the customer.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience that demonstrates a practical knowledge of the subject area of the position and of the methods and techniques in providing support of training operations administration instructing, which includes review of training/course materials, aids, devices, and evaluation of training results associated with Electronic Health Record (EHR) system such as MHS GENESIS in conjunction with Microsoft Office applications. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in education or a subject area related to the position to be filled, such as, Healthcare Administration, Healthcare Educator. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18.
