This is a Direct Hire Authority (DHA) solicitation utilizing the DHA for Major Range and Test Facilities Base (MRTFB) to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to positions in the competitive service.
About the Position: Serve as the Supervisory Logistics Management Specialist within the Maintenance Production control Branch, Maintenance Division, Logistics Readiness Center (LRC).
Duties
Manage the Installation Materiel Maintenance program, to include planning, developing, implementation and executing the program objectives with in the assigned program areas.
Arrange and coordinate a variety of maintenance sites facilities, equipment, and tools to meet the logistical, administrative and maintenance support requirements of the Maintenance Division tactical and commercial equipment support mission.
Assure proper accountability of shop property and equipment utilized to accomplish missions
Analyze logistics activities and makes recommendations for improvement of and changes in the maintenance program operations.
Initiate and prepares staff studies, reports, directives and correspondence relating to the maintenance program.
Review processes involved in preparing for maintenance programs to determine effectiveness in accomplishing objectives, workload changes, staffing, etc., and make recommendations for changes and/or improvements, as appropriate.
Prepare the maintenance portions of the installation's mobilization/demobilization plans.
Conduct studies and special logistics related activities to measure and evaluate maintenance, supply, and transportation system responsiveness.
Apply abroad knowledge of technical support and material readiness requirements to accomplish the mission.
Perform supervisory duties including planning, organizing, assigning, reviewing and coordinating work subordinate employees.
Prepare production reports; establishes or revises work methods/ procedures.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.
- This position is supervisory as defined by the Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) General Schedule Supervisory Guide (GSSG).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience monitoring expenditures, determining the funding, personnel requirements, or timelines; preparing after action reports; and analyzing maintenance logistics activities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service GS-09.

Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M. with a major study in , such as Logistics Management, Logistics, Supply Chain Management or other fields related to the position to be filled. Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
