This position is located in the Department of Homeland Security, Office of Strategy, Policy, and Plans; Office of Immigration Statistics . (Future Office of Homeland Security Statistics (OHSS).
Responsible for collaborating with other OHSS divisions on applying analytical process to the planning, design, and implementation of complex information analysis systems with a focus on developing the strategic use and security of the DHS statistical data
This is a non-bargaining unit position.
Duties
As a Supervisory IT Specialist, GS-2210-15, your typical work assignments may include:
Managing and executing ongoing IT and data administration, data architecture, data development, data processing, and related functions at a level of certified Project Management Professional (PMP).
Leading large-scale projects from scoping to execution phases involving technical data and computer issues while using best IT engineering and cybersecurity practices.
Serving as a certified Contracting Officer's Representative (COR-III) and substantially participating in the planning, estimating, controlling, and managing of budgets; managing of complex procurements; and execution of contracts; and,
Directing the development and tracking of budget including formulation, execution, and justification of budgets-and management and control of funds for projects/programs.
Exercising delegated managerial authority to oversee the overall planning, directing, and timely execution of IT program(s), several program segments, or comparable staff functions including issues related to necessary data security.
Serving as a Supervisory Information Technology (IT) Specialist responsible for collaborating with other OHSS divisions on applying analytical process to the planning, design, and implementation of complex information analysis systems with a focus on developing the strategic use and security of the DHS statistical data.

Qualifications
Specialized Experience:
You qualify for the GS-15 grade level if you possess one year of specialized experience, equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal government, performing duties such as:
Managing and executing ongoing IT and data administration, data architecture, data development, data processing, and related functions at a level of certified PMP.
Leading large-scale projects from scoping to execution phases involving technical data and computer issues while using best IT engineering and cybersecurity practices;
Serving as a certified COR III and substantially participating in the planning, estimating, controlling, and managing of budgets; managing of complex procurements; and execution of contracts; and directing the development and tracking of budget including formulation, execution, and justification of budgets-and management and control of funds for projects/programs.
Selective placement factor: This position requires a COR III certificate as a selective placement factor. Which is a skill, knowledge, ability, or other characteristic essential for the job's satisfactory performance. The Selective Placement Factor represents the minimum requirements for this position and is a prerequisite for appointment.
