The Program Manager for one of Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration’s Division offices, provides leadership in developing and administering multifaceted transportation safety program through a multi‑level staff, and represents Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration in dealings with Federal and State government and local business officials on transportation safety and commercial programs. This position is in a Field Division Office of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration.

Qualifications

To meet the minimum qualifications for this position, you must meet the specialized experience qualifications for the grade at which you are requesting consideration.To qualify for the Grade 14, you must have at least one year of experience equal or equivalent to the GS-13, it must include: Experience in leading teams, partners, and external stakeholders in achieving a safety vision, core program and regulatory compliance activities to advance commercial motor carrier vehicle, driver, and hazardous materials transportation safety. Experience in conducting outreach and educational support to the motor carrier industry that promotes safety, security, compliance and economic sustainability. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Interpersonal Skills (*) - Shows understanding, friendliness, courtesy, tact, empathy, concern, and politeness to others; develops and maintains effective relationships with others; may include effectively dealing with individuals who are difficult, hostile, or distressed; relates well to people from varied backgrounds and different situations; is sensitive to cultural diversity, race, gender, disabilities, and other individual differences.
