About the Position: Serves as a Senior Logistics Management Specialist on the IMCOM G-4 Public Works, Office of the Director, located at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.

Duties

Ability to present information orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner and articulate and communicate team assignments and/or program issues. Understanding of major items procurement process in order to provide assistance in determining kinds of systems/equipment to purchase. Analyze, interpret and adapt general guidelines to meet the requirements of specific situations, and recommend changes in policies and processes, where needed, to enhance effectiveness. Develops reviews and implements directives, policies, procedures and programs affecting resources, acquisition, transportation, distribution, redistribution, supply and maintenance support, readiness and disposition for assigned systems/equipment. Performs projects and studies which require analysis of major logistics mission activities and programs throughout IMCOM Command area of responsibility and often involve deviations from traditional practices.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time, which may include extended periods away from the primary duty location, both within CONUS and overseas.
  • The duties of this position require the incumbent to possess or obtain and maintain a valid state Driver's License in one of the 50 U.S. states or possessions to operate vehicles.

Specialized Experience: I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service which includes experience with developing, reviewing, and implementing operational orders, plans, directives, policies, procedures, and programs affecting resources, acquisition, transportation, distribution, redistribution, supply support, readiness and disposition for assigned systems/equipment. Experience with the Army Maintenance Management Systems. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities & InfrastructureOrganizational AwarenessProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
