Joining the Secret Service, Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center, you will provide training to criminal investigators and law enforcement officers with investigative techniques, analysis, interviewing skills, and the ability to plan and coordinate investigations with significant community impact. This Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) (Protective Operations) position starts at a salary of $112,015 (GS-13, Step 1).

The selectee will serve as Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) (Protective Operations) in the Office of Training, James J. Rowley Training Center in Laurel, MD. Typical work assignments include:

Qualifications
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $112,015) if you possess one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level performing duties such as:
Developing, coordinating, and instructing protection related training to include protective advance development, large and small detail operations;
Coordinating with law enforcement agencies to determine current and future curriculum content;
Providing professional and technical information to managers, employees and students; and
Observing, evaluating, guiding, and mentoring students in their progress relative to training objectives.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
