Duties
The selectee will serve as a Law Enforcement Specialist (Instructor) in the Office of Training. Typical work assignments include:
Developing and instructing defensive and evasive vehicle operation tactics related to high-risk situations likely to be encountered during protective and investigative emergencies.
Utilizing a variety of advanced instructional methods (e.g., seminars, multi-media instructions, and demonstration) to instruct students in basic to advanced techniques in the specialty area.
Planning, analysis, and decision-making processes for overall objectives, milestones, priorities, and administrative framework for the specialized functional area; Ensuring that training accurately adheres to current industry standards, Federal Law Enforcement Accreditation.
Qualifications
Applicants must demonstrate that they meet the Specialized Experience requirements as noted below
You qualify for the GS-13 level (starting salary $117,962.00) if you possess one of the following:
GS-13: Applicant must demonstrate one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-12 level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors) performing the following duties:
Instructing motor vehicle operations for a variety of vehicle types (e.g., cars, bicycles, motorcycles, all-terrain vehicles, etc.);
Delivering classroom and/or field instruction training outside of a traditional classroom environment; and
Planning training programs for a team or organization.
NOTE: Your resume must explicitly indicate how you meet this requirement, otherwise you will be found ineligible.
