You will serve as a SAFETY PROGRAM MANAGER in the Engineering Department of CDR NAVY REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CMD.
Duties
You will conduct audits and inspections to ensure compliance with established Naval Sea Systems Command (NAVSEA) and Navy OSHE response and safety policies as well as Federal legislation and regulations governing programs.
You will coordinate NAVSEA 8010 Fire Drills in the oversight evaluations of the RMC Enterprise to ensure and validate the activity’s ability to respond to a major shipboard fire while adhering to all OSHE requirements.
You will identify regulatory noncompliance and successes in preventing deficiencies at the activity level so that trends can be acted upon and shared among activities.
You will implement the provisions of all Safety and Occupational Health programs in such a manner as to be in conformance with NAVSEA policy and strict adherence with other governmental agencies, state and local statutes, and regulations.
You will monitor shipyard, contractor, RMC, and ship's force Safety and Occupational Health compliance, to include Fire Safety programs, to minimize risks and liabilities to the command and the Navy.
You will evaluate safety criteria to eliminate or control serious hazards encountered in the construction, operation and maintenance of agency-wide ship repair and contractor facilities.
You will identify regulatory noncompliance and successes in preventing deficiencies at the activity level.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the pay band NH-02 (GS-11) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: managing, controlling, monitoring, interpreting, and assisting in seeking resolutions to all matters relating to the effective planning, implementation, and conduct of Safety and Occupational Health programs.
