This is a developmental position designed to promote the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to successfully perform at the journeyman Auditor level in the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA), Office of Audit. Requirements

Qualifications

You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement. To be qualified for this position at the GS-04 level, you must have completed 2 full academic years of post-high school study or an Associate's Degree. The education generally must be from an accredited (or pre-accredited) college or university recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Following the completion of educational requirements, you may be considered for non-competitive conversion to a career-conditional or term appointment. In order to be converted, you must have completed educational requirements and work requirements (640 hours prior to graduation, unless you meet one of the exceptions specified on the OPM Intern Program information page).

Education

APPLICANT MUST BE PURSUING A:
Degree in auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration or accounting;
OR
Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; orCompletion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours.
