This position is a summer internship, with the possibility of extension for the duration of time enrolled in an accredited academic institution. Internships may be extended through the school year based on workload requirements and budget availability. This appointment does not confer permanent federal status.

Assists with Agency-wide management function support. Data gathering and analysis. Project and function cost analysis. Assisting with assessments about potential improvements to efficiency and effectiveness. SharePoint app development

Requirements

  • You must be a U.S. citizen or national.
  • You must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • You will be required to sign a Pathways Program Participant Agreement.
  • You must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
  • Males born after 12/31/1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
  • Must be enrolled at least half time at a qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate at least half-time.
  • You must maintain status as a current student while on this appointment.
  • The intern is in a trial period throughout the entire Pathways Internship appointment.

Qualifications

Basic Requirement: Be enrolled, or accepted for enrollment, on at least a half-time basis, at a qualifying educational institution. Be seeking a diploma, degree, or certificate; AND Be in good academic standing and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.50 Qualifications: To qualify for the Student Trainee (Finance), your experience must demonstrate attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, problem solving skills, researching data required for reporting purposes, creating data sets, and cleaning raw data. To qualify at the GS-7 level, you must meet the following requirements: Completion of 1 full academic year of graduate level education in a related field such as Finance and accounting; or Eligibility under the Superior Academic Achievement Provision and completion of a bachelor's degree. S.A.A. is based on (1) class standing, (2) grade-point average, or (3) honor society membership. Class standing -- Applicants must be in the upper third of the graduating class in the college, university, or major subdivision, such as the College of Liberal Arts or the School of Business Administration, based on completed courses. Grade-point average (G.P.A.) -- Applicants must have a grade-point average of: 3.0 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B" or better) as recorded on their official transcript, or as computed based on 4 years of education, or as computed based on courses completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum; or 3.5 or higher out of a possible 4.0 ("B+" or better) based on the average of the required courses completed in the major field or the required courses in the major field completed during the final 2 years of the curriculum. Election to membership in a national scholastic honor society -- Applicants can be considered eligible based on membership in one of the national scholastic honor societies. These honor societies are listed by the Association of College Honor Societies. This position has an education requirement. Unofficial transcripts will be accepted in the application package. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education in order to be credited towards qualifications. Applicants must have the general and specialized experience outlined below which provided the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the duties of the position. NOTE: Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Pathways Student Internship Program Education Requirement:1. Must be currently enrolled or accepted for enrollment and seeking a degree (diploma, certificate, etc.) in an accredited college (including 4-year colleges/universities, community colleges, and junior colleges); professional, technical, vocational, and trade school; advanced degree programs; or other qualifying educational institution pursuing a qualifying degree or certificate on a full or half-time basis.

NOTE: You MUST provide proof that you are currently enrolled or have been accepted for enrollment in the next academic term on a full-time or part-time basis.

A. You must maintain student eligibility and enrollment for the duration of the internship. If you do not maintain eligibility and enrollment, you are ineligible for this program.

B. Every semester, you must maintain good academic standing with an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale.

C. Must be a citizen of the U.S. (or lawfully admitted to the U.S. as a permanent resident or otherwise authorized to be employed under Immigration law, and able to be employed under the appropriations ban on employment of non-citizens).For additional information regarding the Pathways Program, please refer to the following website: USAJobs: Students and Recent Graduates
