About the Position: The incumbent of this position will work as a Financial Systems Analyst in the Financial Operations Division, within HQ IMCOM at, Fort Sam Houston, TX, implementing and executing financial and accounting programs.

Duties

Develops specifications for new financial applications. Determines flaws in the new applications and methods needed to correct areas of concern. Provides technical advice and/or resolution on problems related to operational effectiveness, reliability, and security of assigned databases. Converts legacy database systems to new formats and structures. Provides expertise to functional managers in the development/enhancement of financial management systems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This is a Financial Management Level 2 Certified position. Incumbent of this position is required to comply with all Department of Defense and Department of the Army certification requirements within 2 years of appointment.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes experience developing and installing financial systems, accounting policies, and operating standards; experience maintaining automated financial systems and programs to solve problems within financial reporting and/or regulations. Providing advice and guidance in system architecture and strategic plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-12).
