About the Position: Serve as a Financial Management analyst with responsibility for planning, programming, budget formulation, presentation and execution, in the G8 RM Directorate Program and Budget Division, located at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

Duties

Perform a variety of administrative and analytical duties in the formulation, presentation auditing, funds distribution, accountability, and execution of the budget for the programs assigned. Review and edit funding requests to assure they conform to regulatory requirements. Certification authority for all internal budget actions. Monitor the AFP/Allocation, distribution, audit tracking vs execution of a budget with multiple funding sources.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement of 25% of the time.
  • This position requires the employee to meet Financial Management Certification Level 2.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includesapplying knowledge of accounting systems in solving problems arising from the implementation of new systems, identifying deficiencies in existing systems and developing new locally automated systems within the resource management area of responsibility. Conducting studies of procedures, methods, workflow and functions to determine changes needed in existing automated accounting systems; experience applying, revising, improving and adjusting financial systems to eliminate problems; and use of processing cycles and techniques within various automated systems required to process and trace transactions, analyze need for adjustments and assure completion of corrective actions. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11). You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Financial Management AnalysisFinancial Management SystemsOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-???????11).
