You will serve as a PROGRAM ANALYST in the SURFACE WARFARE TECHNICAL DIVISION of NSMWDC DET DAHLGREN.

Duties

You will possess mastery of Aegis combat systems to include systems employment during: Integrated Air and Missile Defense (IAMD), Anti-Surface Warfare (ASuW) and Anti-Submarine Warfare (ASW). You will possess detailed knowledge of the systems supporting air and missile defense, surface warfare operations, undersea warfare operations, and force command and control systems. You will possess expert understanding of Fleet Operations and doctrine methodology, operational plans, policies and procedures in order to conduct warfighting across multiple domains. You will assess the gaps between future adversary capabilities and current and future navy and joint capabilities. You will lead and support planning teams and develop recommendations for leadership. You will exercise initiative, resourcefulness, and judgment in evaluating, correlating, advising, and acting on complex tasks and issues. You will possess expert understanding of the requirements of delivering new capabilities to afloat and shore commands. You will possess expert knowledge of ship board and shore based training systems to include Aegis and SSDS versions of Battle Force Tactical Training system, Advanced Training Domain and the Combined IAMD and ASW Trainer (CIAT). You will possess detailed knowledge of the networks and protocols required to conduct distributed live, virtual and constructive training for both shore based and shipboard training systems.

  • Within the Department of Defense (DoD), the appointment of retired military members within 180 days immediately following retirement date to a civilian position is subject to the provisions of 5 United States Code 3326.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current valid United States driver?s license.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing multi-mission integration exploration and development of products that support operational capabilities for improved warfighting across assigned mission areas.
