About the Position: Position may be filled as a temporary promotion or detail NTE 3 years by a current permanent Army employee. Temporary promotions may be extended up to a maximum of 5 years. Position may be made permanent without further competition. Employees are not eligible for a detail in the OCONUS area unless already residing in the same overseas area as the position being filled. This is an obligated position

Duties

Perform continuing oversight and evaluation of the adequacy of the safety efforts of WSMR elements and tenants. Conduct on-site evaluation, analyzes plans and procedures, identifies hazards and other inadequacies, prescribes measures to eliminate or otherwise control such hazards and to remedy deficiencies, and prepares evaluation reports. Develop long-term safety program plans and initiatives including budget and manpower requirements. Develop, implement, and manage occupational health and sanitation safety programs including joint or separate surveys of conditions affecting the health and efficiency of personnel. Manage the safety education and promotion programs designed to inculcate and maintain interest in accident prevention. Develop and implement policies and procedures necessary to ensure compliance with applicable safety requirements.
