About the Position: This is a Human Resources Assistant (Military/OA) position located with the Directorate of Human Resources, Military Personnel Division, located at Fort Sill, Oklahoma.
Duties
Provides immediate status reports.
Logs and tracks all documents received.
Uses multiple office automation software with varied functions to produce a wide range of documents, formats etc.
Perform duties related with in-processing/out-processing, military ID cards, Reassignment, and other military actions.
Works under the general supervision of the Installation?s Military Personnel Division (MPD), (Personnel Processing Branch, (PPB) Personnel Services Branch (PSB), or Trainee/Student Processing Branch (TSPB).
Responsible for Military Human Resources, which establish the operating parameters and provides the general objectives and priorities.
Incumbent selects and applies a variety of rules, regulations, procedures, policies, and programs.
Responsible for the independent processing of a variety of military personnel transactions and/or review and verification of transactions and reports for factual accuracy, procedural and substantive sufficiency.

- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- A qualified typist is required to perform the office Automation duties.
- Permanent Change of Station (PCS) Expenses are NOT authorized.
- Defense National Relocation Program will NOT be authorized.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes the following: 1) Maintaining military personnel files 2) Utilizing military personnel automated systems 3) Processing military personnel actions and 4) Applying military personnel rules, regulations and procedures. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
OR
Education: A half year (i.e., 9 semester hours) of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 9. Add the two percentages.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05).
