About the Position: This position is in the Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS). Employees occupying DCIPS positions are in the Excepted Service and must adhere to U.S. Code, Title 10, as well as Department of Defense Instruction 1400.25. This position is located at the on historic Fort Bragg in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Fort Bragg is the home of the national premiere Special Operations and Airborne Forces.

Duties

Subject matter expert for highly unique special operations targets of operational and intelligence interest to the command. Required to deploy, as a member of a task force, on short notice to combat situations in order to perform research, analysis, evaluation, coordination, and liaison duties. May serve in the command intelligence Crisis Action Center (CAC) as a Senior Intelligence Analyst during exercise or crisis operations. Responsible for briefing the Commanding General and other key joint staff decision makers on a daily basis with little or no prior warning Responsible for wide range of concepts, principles, and practices to include Intelligence Community missions, functions, and capabilities. Solves difficult and complex analytical problems.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret (TS) security clearance based on a Tier 5 investigation/Single Scope Background Investigation (SSBI) with eligibility for sensitive compartmented information (SCI).
  • In accordance with Change 3 to AR 600-85, Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program, individual must successfully pass a urinalysis screening for illegal drug use prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
  • Must be willing to undergo and successfully complete a counterintelligence-scope polygraph examination with No Deception Indicated (NDI) on a pre-appointment and periodic basis.
  • Two year trial/probationary period may be required.
  • Requires extensive temporary duty (TDY) travel to locations within the continental United States (CONUS) and outside the continental United States (OCONUS), up to 30% of the time.
  • Subject to short notice recall. Must reside within normal commuting distance of the assigned duty station (50 miles).
  • Duties may be performed under austere and potentially hazardous conditions during exercise and deployment operations. May be required to deploy into areas in which hostile action may occur.
  • May be required to complete specific training, physical examination, and immunization requirements as appropriate for outside the continental United States (OCONUS) deployments.
  • May be required to remain on duty or report for duty during severe weather or other installation closings.
  • May be required to apply for Staff Like Access (SLA) certification.
  • This position is considered deployable. Requires extensive travel, both CONUS and OCONUS, more or less than 30% of the time, on very short notice.
  • Anthrax vaccination will be required. Frequent extended duty with long hours under high pressure with generally high-risk job responsibilities.
  • TELEWORK ? Situational. Position allows work that can be completed in a non-routine, limited arrangement under which eligible employees work at a local telework site (residence).

AND Experience developing in-depth intelligence analytical assessments to determine best methodology. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-12). Progressively responsible experience which has included intelligence-related research, analysis, collections and /or operations. This experience should have included intelligence analysis and/or production, intelligence collection and/or operations, counterintelligence, or threat support directly related to the position to be filled. This experience should demonstrate: Knowledge of intelligence processes, cycle and organizations; Knowledge of and/or ability to use research tools such as library holdings, photographs, statistics, graphics and maps; Knowledge of the systems, procedures and methods of analyzing, compiling, reporting and disseminating intelligence data; and/or Knowledge of organization(s) for and methods of collecting and analyzing intelligence data.
